The Worthington Trojans baseball team will open play in the Section 2AAA tournament on Wednesday.
WHS, which comes into the tournament with a 5-15 record, is seeded eighth out of eight teams. The Trojans are set to play their first-round game at 5 p.m. Wednesday against top-seeded Mankato West on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato.
In other first round action Wednesday, No. 4 New Prague meets No. 5 Jordan at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Stadium; second-seeded Mankato East plays seventh-seeded St. Peter at 5 p.m. at Mankato East’s Wolverton Field, and No. 3 Marshall faces No. 6 Albert Lea at 7 p.m. at Marshall Legion Field.
