H-BC's Leuthold, JCC's Doescher earn Most Valuable Teammate award

Two southwest Minnesota football players have been recognized as 2025 Football Prep Bowl Most Valuable Teammates.

For 9-Man Football, Gavyn Leuthold of Hills-Beaver Creek earned the honor. For Class 2A, receiving recognition was Carson Doescher of Jackson County Central.

The Minnesota State High School League and TruStone Financial sponsor the Most Valuable Teammate award program for students who exemplify leadership and sportsmanship. These students are recognized on the League's website.

The award is for 11th and 12th-grade students in League-sponsored activities who display the qualities of a great teammate. These qualities include: positive influence on their team —putting the team before self; exemplifying leadership and sportsmanship; and respectful, reliable and supportive of others.

Activity directors, athletic coaches and fine arts directors can nominate their students via an MSHSL.org nomination form. Student nominations are be accepted throughout the school year, during every season of play.
