The Worthington High boys soccer team has received a No. 1 seed in the Section 2AA Tournament and will begin sectional play with a home match at 7 p.m. Tuesday against eighth-seeded New Ulm.
Other matchups Tuesday in Section 2AA include No. 7 Hutchinson at No. 2 New Prague; No. 6 Jordan at No. 3 Marshall; and No. 5 Mankato West at No. 4 Mankato East. Winners of these matches will advance to the semifinals on Thursday, with high seeds hosting.. The championship match is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 18 in New Prague.
The Trojan girls, who were blanked 6-0 Saturday night at Trojan Field in their final regular-season match, received a No. 8 seed in sectionals. They will play Mankato East on Tuesday at the Caswell North Soccer Complex. The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday and the finals Oct. 18 in New Prague.
