Practice for multiple high school sports has gotten under way across the region.
The Adrian-Ellsworth Dragons varsity softball team is just days away from its first scheduled game, as they're scheduled to travel to Luverne on Tuesday the 26th to meet the Cardinals. Given the forecast of significant snow in the coming days, however, it appears likely that game may be postponed to a later date.
As of now, Adrian-Ellsworth is scheduled to begin seasons for a couple of other spring sports two days later – on Thursday the 28th. The Dragons are slated to compete at a track meet at Murray County Central in Slayton. The Adrian-Ellsworth baseball team, meanwhile, is scheduled to play Luverne at 4:30 p.m. that same day in Adrian.
Meanwhile, multiple Worthington High School teams are expected to complete in season-openers on Tuesday, April 2. The Trojans' boys and girls golf teams are scheduled to host Fulda at GreatLIFE Worthington beginning at 4:15 p.m. Both the girls and boys WHS track and field teams are also on the calendar to take part in a meet in Luverne that afternoon. At 5:30 p.m., the Trojans baseball squad is also scheduled to open its season in a home game at the Worthington Middle School Field against Luverne.
Worthington's softball team, meanwhile, has its first game of the spring slated for Saturday, April 6, when it's slated to host Albert Lea.
Sibley-Ocheyedan's seasons for spring outdoor sports are also slated to get underway during the first week of April.
