The Worthington ISD 518 Sports Boosters Club supports young student athletes in pursuing the combination of collegiate athletic and academic pursuits. All student athletes who have secured future athletic participation on the collegiate level are eligible to apply regardless of the sport(s) they participate in.
The Sports Boosters will extend seven $500 scholarships to senior student athletes who exemplify effort, dedication, commitment and spirit to their team, school, and community. This year’s winners are Nasim Zeidi, Tarren Spartz, Lilly Mahlberg, Anthony Linder, Ellie Weg, Ethan Meyer, and Mikele Walu.
Zeidi will be attending Minnesota West Community and Technical College, where he will be playing football. Spartz will be attending Dordt University, where she will be playing volleyball. Mahlberg will be attending the University of Minnesota Crookston, where she will be playing golf.
Linder will study at Southwest Minnesota State University, where he will play football. Weg also plans to go to Dordt University, where she will play volleyball as well. Meyer will attend Minnesota West Community and Technical College, where he will compete in wrestling, and Walu will head to the University of Sioux Falls, where he will be running cross country and track.
