Lady Jays drop two in Saturday road doubleheader

The Minnesota West softball team scored four first-inning runs in each game of its Saturday doubleheader at Anoka-Ramsey, but wound up losing both contests by scores of 7-6 and 12-4.


Anoka-Ramsey got four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to rally to win game 1, and exploded for 10 runs in the second in game two. With the losses, the Lady Jays fall to 4-6 on the season. They are scheduled to play a doubleheader today at Ridgewater.


In other action scheduled for today, Minnesota West will play one baseball game on the diamond at Iowa Lakes. Both the Worthington High School golf teams will be on the road, with the girls competing in Luverne and the boys in Redwood Falls. The Trojans’ tennis team will play at Lac Qui Parle Valley, and the WHS softball team will host St. James Area. Catch the softball action starting at 5:30 p.m. on KWOA The Fan.
