Lady Jays basketball players earn academic honors

In addition to finishing as runners-up in the National Junior College Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Tournament earlier this year, members of the Minnesota West Lady Jays also excelled in the classroom.

Four of Minnesota West’s players were named to the 2022-2023 NJCAA All-Academic Team. Lady Jays earning honors were Brooklyn Scheitel-Taylor, Hattie DeVries, Dasia Potter and Olivia Hayenga.

Meanwhile, the entirety of the Minnesota West women’s basketball team’s roster was named to the spring all-academic team for the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. Those players include Scheitel-Taylor, DeVries, Potter and Hayenga along with Dannyn Peterson, Tia Murray, Madisyn Huisman, Audrey Drapeau and Wiconi Uses Arrow.
