Donations being taken for family of WHS football player

Free-will donations are being accepted to assist the family of a Worthington football player who suffered a serious injury two weeks ago.

During the Sept. 30 Worthington Trojans' game at Luverne, WHS junior Mak Lia sustained a severe head injury. He was immediately transferred to the hospital and airlifted to Sioux Falls. He spent a couple of nights in the hospital and is now recovering from home.

Free-will donations to help his family cover medical expenses will be collected during the Oct. 19 Trojans home football game against New Ulm. Checks can also be sent to: United Prairie Bank, 905 McMillan St., P.O. Box 776, Worthington 56187. People may also donate through Venmo.
