Austin’s Kate Holtz scored an unassisted goal 8:35 into the third to put the Packers in front of the Trojans, 3-2, and that would be the eventual final score Tuesday night at the Worthington Ice Arena.

Aubree Pederson’s goal with just 7.6 seconds remaining in the first period gave the Trojans a 1-0 lead, but the Packers knotted things up just 15 seconds into the second period when Sarah Wangen scored. The teams remained tied heading into the third period, but Austin moved out in front 2-1 with 3:34 seconds gone by on a goal that came on a two-person-advantage power play. The Trojans, though, answered when Allison Iverson scored on an assist from Kessey Aljets at 5:56 of the third.

WHS had a two-person advantage for 27 seconds late in the third period, but couldn’t convert. The Trojans stayed close despite being outshot, 29-12. The WHS girls are now 3-14 on the season.
