A crash last week resulted in a Worthington woman being taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2019 Chevy Express Van operated by Carmelino Lopez Moreno, 45, of Ellsworth was southbound on Minnesota 24 in Stearns County and a 2015 Freightliner Semi operated by Aaron Selix, 48, of St. Cloud was northbound. The two vehicles collided head-on near the intersection with Kingston Road. The crash took place at 6:49 p.m. on Feb. 21 in snow/ice conditions in Maine Prairie Township. A passenger in the Chevy, Sofia Teapila, 42 ,of Worthington, was taken to the St. Cloud Emergency Room with life-threatening injuries. Moreno was uninjured, and Selix had non-life-threatening injuries.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office, Mayo/Kimball Ambulance and Kimball Fire Departments all assisted at the scene.
