Lake Wilson's Mark York is seeking Minnesota U.S. Senate seat

A seventh-generation farmer from Lake Wilson has announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate.

Mark York has served as a White House fellow at the Pentagon and the White House. He will be running as a Republican and will be seeking the endorsement of the Republican Party of Minnesota.

As a White  House Fellow, York worked with the Pentagon’s Office of Strategic Capital to provide low-interest loans to critical technology companies across the U.S., and he served with the National Energy Dominance Council in the White House to accelerate permitting and direct funding to companies producing critical minerals (nickel, copper, cobalt and more) in Minnesota.

York is the co-founder and President of Farm Yield Africa, a Minneapolis-based non-profit providing tractor services and microcredit to 1,800 farmers in Ghana since 2016. He worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, and before that, he led a data science team at a startup building agricultural risk models.

Said York in his candidacy announcement: "Minnesota deserves a senator who understands the technologies shaping our future, the challenges facing younger generations, and how to actually get things done in Washington. I’m running to serve Minnesotans with practical, common-sense leadership that moves the needle for families across our state.”
