One person died Tuesday as the result of multi-vehicle accident on U.S. 59.
According to a press release issued late Thursday afternoon by Nobles County Sheriff Ryan Kruger, the sheriff's office received a report of a crash with unknown injuries at approximately 5:23 p.m. Tuesday. A 2012 Toyota Corolla operated by Lisa Le Hollon was northbound on U.S. 59, and a 2006 Buick Rendezvous operated by Elizabeth Schweigert was southbound. The Corolla and the Rendezvous collided at mile marker 17, which caused a secondary crash involving a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado.
Hollon and Schweigert were taken by ambulance to Sanford Worthington Medical Center, where Hollon was pronounced dead. The occupants in the other vehicles were treated and released from the scene.
The Nobles County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Minnesota State Patrol, Worthington Fire Department, Sanford Ambulance Worthington, Slayton Ambulance, Fulda Ambulance and the Murray County Sheriff’s Office.
