Pair of teens hurt in Wednesday crash in Windom

Two teens were taken to a hospital with injuries as a result of a crash Wednesday afternoon in Windom.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2003 Ford F-350 operated by Braden Edward Yonker, 17, of Bingham Lake was westbound on Minnesota 60, and a 2013 Ford C-Max operated by a 16-year-old Windom female was southbound on First Street and entering westbound Minnesota 60. The vehicles collided in the intersection.


The 16-year-old female was taken to Windom Area Health with an unspecified injury. Her passenger, Virginia Anne Jensen, 17, of Heron Lake, was also taken to Windom Area Health with a non-life-threatening injury. Yonker was uninjured in the crash, which was reported at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday.


Assisting at the scene were the Windom Police Department, Fire Department and Ambulance, as well as the Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office.
