JCC will suspend superintendent search, negotiate with its interim

The Jackson County Central School Board voted this week to suspend the search for a new superintendent and enter negotiations with Interim Superintendent Dr. Mike Neubeck.

A statement released by the school board says six applications were received for the position and that after reviewing the candidates and using the information from the community survey, “it was determined that Dr. Neubeck was the clear choice for JCC moving forward.”

The statement goes on to say that by suspending the search, the district will spend $6,400 on consultant fees and not the $11,900 had the board gone through the entire process.
