November highs warmer than normal; conditions dry

High temperatures in Worthington were significantly warmer than average last month while total precipitation was almost nonexistent, according to data compiled at the Worthington Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The average high temperature in Worthington in November was 48.0 degrees, or 6.2 degrees warmer than the average November high of 41.8. The warmest high of the month, 64 degrees, was recorded on both Nov. 6 and 15. Two consecutive days with highs of 63 degrees came on Nov. 16 and 17.


The average low in Worthington in November was 24.3 degrees, or 1.1 degrees warmer than the average of 23.2. The lowest temperature reading came on Nov. 24 with a reading of 9 degrees. A low of 10 was recorded on Nov. 27.

Worthington received a total of .04 inches of precipitation and half an inch of snow during the month of November, with the precip total being 1.23 inches less than typical. Nov. 25 was when the month's total snowfall was measured, as well as .03 inches of the precipitation.

Eleven months into 2023, there has been 22.17 inches of precipitation; the normal total at this juncture of the year is 29.6 inches. That means we're slightly less than seven and a half inches below average in precipitation for the calendar year.

As for temperatures, the average high so far this year has been 57.9; the average low 36.9. By comparison, the average high for a typical first 11 months of the year is 56.9 and the typical low is 36.3.
