Three special events at the Nobles County Heritage Center have been scheduled for the coming weeks.
The first event is titled “How Do You Like Them Apples?” and is scheduled for Thursday, May 23. The program will cover a brief history of Nobles County apple varieties and be presented by Chuck Nystrom of Ocheda Orchard. It will begin at 2 p.m.
Bill Keitel, one of the founders of the Worthington Windsurfing Regatta & Music Festival, will discuss the origins of the festival and what makes Lake Okabena a great locale for windsurfing during a “Songs & Sails” program scheduled for 2 p.m. June 6.
On June 28, a mural dedication and social hour is scheduled to mark the dedication of a mural of a 1935 photo of the Nobles County Courthouse taken by Harry and Alice Rickers. The program will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a short ceremony at 5:30 p.m. There will be a charcuterie spread and beverages.
