The Worthington City Council on Monday is scheduled to consider the declaration of a cost to be assessed and order the preparation of proposed assessments for a sanitary sewer project as well as 2024 miscellaneous unpaid charges. Following that, the council is scheduled to call for a hearing on those proposed assessments.
The sanitary sewer project, which took place along Second Avenue from 10th Street to 12th Street, has a total of unpaid charges of $21,513, all of which are slated to be declared as assessable costs. Additionally, the 2024 minimum unpaid charges include costs for: removal of noxious weeds and vegetation exceeding a height of six inches on various parcels of property; unpaid charges for the city’s storm water utility; and unpaid charges for the city’s streetlight utility. The sum of the 2024 unpaid charges is $4,341.14, including $3,803 for the noxious weed removal, $377.94 for the storm water utility and $160.20 for the streetlight utility.
Should the costs to be assessed be declared, council members would call for a hearing, which already has been tentatively scheduled for the Sept. 8 council meeting.
Also on the light agenda for Monday’s meeting is a property tax abatement request from Marco Ramos, who is planning the construction of a new single-family home on Cecilee Street.
