Larry Liepold of Okabena has announced his candidacy for Minnesota House of Representatives.
Liepold will aim to fill the seat of District 22B Rep. Rod Hamilton, the Mountain Lake Republican who has served in the Minnesota House since his initial election in November 2004.
Liepold’s agricultural roots are deep, and his values are consistent with a progressive candidate, according to a press release regarding the announcement of his candidacy. He said that he champions the rural freedoms of farming by raising livestock and growing diversified crops, improving his operation in consideration to the soil, water and air. His strip-till business, Liepold Farms Precision Agriculture, is celebrating its fifth year.
Liepold contributes his time to his church, Heron Lake Emergency Medical Services, Jackson County 4-H and Minnesota Pork Board, along with past commitment to national commodity organizations.
