Jackson Business Challenge accepting applications

The Jackson Business Development Committee (JBDC) is now accepting applications for the 2024 Jackson Business Challenge until Jan. 31, 2024. The six-year-old program is designed to attract new businesses to downtown Jackson by offering a prize package worth nearly $20,000.

The 2024 Jackson Business Challenge will follow the same guidelines as the previous programs. The program aims to attract entrepreneurs to the Jackson community. The contest will consist of three rounds, with the first-round deadline being Jan. 31. The rounds will consist of the following: Round 1 – Business Concept; Round 2 – Detailed Business Plan; Round 3 - Oral Presentation.

The prize package valued at nearly $20,000 will consist of grant funds, rental assistance, marketing, accountancy assistance, legal assistance, internet service and more. The program is being sponsored by many local organizations that are committed to helping the community grow and thrive.


The Jackson Business Challenge will look at the viability of applicants’ business plans as well as how they will enhance downtown. Entrepreneurs as well as current business owners in and out of Jackson, are encouraged to apply to the program.
