Multiple crews were called in to assist a pipeline rupture last week in northwest Iowa.
O’Brien County Emergency Management said a call came in at about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday reporting a pipeline had been ruptured near Paullina. According to emergency management, the rupture was near Roosevelt Avenue and Iowa 10, east of Paullina.
“Upon arriving at the incident location, first responders noted that a contractor had been working in the field north of Highway 10 and struck a pipeline transporting diesel,” stated an emergency management press release.
Diesel fuel was released into the ground, moved along the drainage tile and into a ditch along the highway.
