This year's 25th annual Worthington Windsurfing Regatta & Music Festival will feature headlining acts that will cap outstanding musical lineups on both Friday and Saturday, June 13-14.
Cooper Alan, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, who has accumulated more than 225 million streams as an independent artist as well as a massive digital presence with more than 14 million followers across all social media platforms, will headline the event on Saturday night.
Viva Knievel, meanwhile, will return to Worthington after a memorable 2022 Regatta set. The self-described “8-to-100-piece fearless American wrecking ball” will headline the festival’s music slate on Friday night.
Opening for Alan on Saturday will be Grupo Quinientos Siete, a regional Mexican band that's set to perform at 4 p.m., and Dylan Schneider, who’s scheduled to play at 7 p.m.
Alan, who is scheduled to take the Sailboard Beach stage at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, is billed as an artist willing to take country music where others have never dreamed. He mixes a variety of musical styles with abundant energy, sharp writing and a frequent sense of humor.
Alan was chosen as a 2024 Pandora Ten Artist To Watch; he was also named to the Sirius XM and Pandora 2024 Future Five List. His single, “Take Forever,” hit No. 1 on Sirius XM The Highway’s Hot 30 Weekend Countdown.
Grupo Quinientos Siete, which hails from Marshall, promises to deliver an unforgettable stage show that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Tex-Mex music.
Schneider, who is signed on the BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville label, has more than 2 million social media followers and 400+ million on-demand career streams, with two RIAA-certified Gold records and a Top-5 hit as a songwriter, Dustin Lynch’s “Momma’s House." Schneider released his debut album, “Puzzled,” last fall.
On Friday night, Viva Knievel will look to rock the Regatta crowd when it performs at 9 p.m. Drink 182, a Minneapolis-based band dedicated to covering music from the ’90s, is set to play beginning at 7 p.m.
A high-octane cover band based in Minneapolis, Viva Knievel — which includes a full horn section — promises “chaotic stage shows, salute-inducing patriotism, face-melting guitar solos and earth-rumbling renditions of all your favorite songs that
other bands are too afraid to play.”
Drink 182, meanwhile, is comprised of road-hardened performers who vow that they are as comfortable with the Beastie Boys as they are Alan Jackson — with a thousand songs in between.
As always, the Worthington Regatta and Music Festival is free and open to the public. All operating revenue from the festival comes from sponsors, registrations, food vendor fees and beverage sales.
