Worthington Middle School open house is Aug. 19

Worthington Middle School will host its back-to-school open house event between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19.

Every student is asked to bring a parent or guardian. If no one is available, students should still attend with a friend or on their own so that WMS staff can assist them in getting started with the new school year. Parents will have paperwork they need to complete, however.

During the Aug. 19 open house:

  • Teachers will be in attendance so students can meet them and get paperwork taken care of with their advisory teacher.

  • Teachers will also help parents get set up on Schoology and Campus so they can be informed.

  • Students can get their name badge.

  • Pictures will be taken for the yearbook.

  • Students can get their schedule and then go wander the halls to see where their classes are located.

  • Students can find their locker, practice their combination and maybe do some decorating in their locker.

  • Students can pick up their iPad; a $20 iPad insurance fee must be paid.

  • Parents may meet with the nurse about any health records or questions.

  • Parents and students may get bus information.

  • Free & Reduced lunch forms may be completed.

Students who are at least 12 years old and above who still need to get the COVID-19 vaccine will also have the opportunity to take part in a free Sanford vaccination clinic at WMS.
