Worthington BPA students raising money for trip

Four Worthington High School BPA students are raising money to travel to Chicago in May to compete with thousands of top students from across the U.S. at the 59th annual National Leadership Conference.

Kaw Blay, Sophie Göhler, Alondra Leon Flores and Cristina Mireles will be raising money to help pay for registration, hotel, transportation and other expenses.

Fundraisers planned include a Hy-Vee Shop-n-Share event March 29-31 during which customers who print off and present a paper copy of the Shop-n-Share form to the cashier at the Worthington Hy-Vee will help raise a 5% return on their shopping experience; and a Pizza Ranch Community Impact Night event on April 10. Students will be selling frozen pizzas and FunZone cards, with 20% of proceeds coming back to BPA.

Students will also be presenting a request to the Worthington Optimist Club for a donation. A Mother’s Day Flower Fundraiser is also planned, and students will be selling floral arrangements in support of BPA.
