The Worthington High boys soccer team made it 10 victories in a row Thursday night as they won on the road at Fairmont, 3-1.

The Trojans took a 1-0 edge slightly more than halfway through the first 40 minutes when Angel Chacon tapped a loose ball in front of the goal into the net. About three minutes later, the Cardinals got the equalizer on a penalty kick.

With six minutes left in the first half, the Trojans got their own chance on a penalty kick, and Kain Thepmontry took advantage. He drilled a shot into the right-hand corner of the net past a frozen Fairmont goalkeeper to put WHS back in front, 2-1.

The Trojans got their final goal of the match with 13 minutes gone by in the second half, as Jaden Luevanos delivered a cross through the middle of the Fairmont defense and found Samuel Togba at the back post to finish the play.

Worthington is now 11-1-1 overall this fall and has three matches remaining before the postseason. The Trojans host Mankato East on Saturday night, head to Southwest Minnesota Christian on Tuesday and play in the Big South title match on Thursday.
