The Worthington Area Youth Baseball Association is updating the public on the baseball field project that it has been working on for the last few years.
WAYBA's goal is to raise approximately $200,000 with a hope of creating a field that every kid would dream of playing on as well as one that would give a great fan experience -- and possibly be one of the premier baseball fields in the tristate area.
WAYBA is attempting this effort without relying on funds from public entities such as the city of Worthington and District 518. It says to do this, it need sthe support of many people and businesses in the community, as well as alumni of WAYBA and Trojan baseball who have experienced the benefits of organized baseball in their lives.
WAYBA has raised $112,000 to date. It notes that those who have the ability to make some year-end giving decisions consider its project for its impact on youth and the community in general. Donations to WAYBA, a 501 (c)(3) entity, are deductible as allowed by tax law.
A donor board will be displayed at the facility upon completion with listings made by levels of support. Contact Jason Turner at (507) 360-5261 or any other board member to make a donation.
