It was a game to forget for the Worthington High School baseball team Tuesday, as visiting Blue Earth Area topped the Trojans 19-6.

Worthington committed nine errors, had its pitchers hit eight batters and allowed three Bucs batters to reach base on wild pitches following strikeouts. WHS, though, was still in the game until the seventh, when Blue Earth Area scored nine times on just two hits to put the game out of reach.

After the Bucs scored five runs in the top of the first, the Trojans quickly chipped away. A two-run single by Jake Brandner made it 5-4 in the bottom of the second, but Blue Earth Area answered with three in the top of the third and the Trojans would get no closer than four runs from the lead the rest of the night.

Brandner had three hits for WHS, which outhit the Bucs 11-10. It was the regular season finale for the Trojans, who are 5-15.
