Three hurt in crash between two semis on Interstate 90

Three people were taken to Sanford Luverne Medical Center following a crash involving two semis early Monday morning on Interstate 90.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2026 Freightliner semi operated by Miles Alexander Jackson, 29, of Mesa, Arizona was westbound on I-90 in snow/ice conditions, as was another 2026 Freightliner semi operated by Necdet Oner, 56, of Fayetteville, N.C., when they collided. One semi wound up jackknifed in the median, while the other came to rest on the shoulder on the interstate. The crash was reported at 1:22 a.m. Monday near milepost 7 in Beaver Creek Township.


Jackson and Oner were both taken to Sanford Luverne Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, as was as a passenger in  Oner's semi, Erdal Demir, 66, of Brooklyn, N.Y. The Luverne Fire Department and EMS, the Rock County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.

Two individuals were hurt in a Sunday afternoon crash on Minnesota 60.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2002 Honda Civic operated by Jessica Vanessa Miguel Nicolas, 32, of Windom was westbound on Minnesota 60 in snow/ice conditions when the vehicle lost control and struck a light pole. The crash was reported at 2:38 p.m. Sunday from the intersection of Minnesota 60 and Chapman Avenue in Heron Lake.


Nicolas and her passenger, Ser Nag Moo, 31, of Windom, were both taken to Sanford Worthington Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Heron Lake Fire Department and Ambulance, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
