Tate named Minnesota Bankers Association board chair

The Minnesota Bankers Association announces that Doug Tate has been elected as chairman of the board for 2023-2024.


Tate is president and CEO of Worthington Federal Savings Bank, a position he has held since 2007. He first joined the bank as vice president in 2000 after serving on its board of directors.


Prior to becoming a banker, Tate worked in public accounting as a CPA and as a representative for Lutheran Brotherhood (now Thrivent Financial). He is a graduate of Buena Vista University in Iowa, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting.


Alongside his wife, Amanda, Tate is very active in the Worthington community including stints serving on church council, the Nobles County United Way Board of Directors, the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce board, the Dayton House board, the Nobles County Pheasants Forever Committee, the King Turkey Day board and two years on the world-champion turkey racing team.


The Minnesota Bankers Association is the state’s largest trade association devoted exclusively to the representation of commercial banks.
