Suicide prevention training scheduled for this week

Seasons Center for Behavioral Health will host a suicide prevention training this week in Sibley in conjunction with Suicide Prevention Week.


The free training will cover the evidence-based curriculum of Question, Persuade, Refer, a two-hour basic suicide prevention course, and will take place on Sept. 9. Question, Persuade, Refer (or QPR) outlines three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.


The training will be be hosted from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lantern Coffeehouse and Roastery in Sibley, in partnership with the Lantern Coffeehouse and Roastery and Bailey’s Lodge. Online registration is available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/167484668151.


In addition to the session in Sibley, the training will also be conducted in Spencer, at Hope Reformed Church, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 10. Online registration for the Spencer training is available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/168490344155.
