Madison Brouwer, a senior at Sibley-Ocheyedan High School who competes on the Generals’ track and field team, is this week’s Radio Works Athlete of the Week! Brouwer captured a state Class 2A championship in the 800 meters Saturday at the Iowa State High School Track and Field Meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, finishing with a time of 2 minutes 13.75 seconds. Brouwer, who also won the 800 at state as a sophomore, then came back in the afternoon to win the 1500 meters with a time of 4:36.75. She plans to run at the University of South Dakota come fall.
