Sheldon man hurt in early morning crash

A one-vehicle crash early Wednesday resulted in a Sheldon man being injured.

According to the Sioux Country Sheriff's Office, a 2006 Mazda operated by Edwin Castro, 23, was northbound on McKinley Avenue about three miles north of Sheldon when it went into a ditch and struck a tree, coming to rest on its top. The crash took place at approximately 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Castro was transported by ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center. He was also cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and operating without a valid driver's license.
