A Thursday afternoon text message reported that two Worthington High School families had received scam phone calls from 507 phone numbers Thursday stating that their WHS students -- both girls – had been abducted.
Both calls were in Spanish, and both stated that they needed to go to Walmart and use either Western Union or Money Gram to send money to get their children back. Both phone calls gave the actual daughters' names.
Both girls were located quickly and verified to be fine. Law enforcement was contacted and is investigating the incidents. Parents are asked to talk to their children about phone safety. If receiving one of these calls, call 911.
