One dead in Wednesday fatal crash in Nobles County

A 19-year-old male died Wednesday as a result of a two-vehicle crash in Nobles County.


According to a press release issued by Nobles County Sheriff Ryan Kruger, the county sheriff's office was dispatched at approximately 8:10 a.m. Wednesday to the intersection of Nobles County 15 and Nobles County 18 to investigate a traffic crash. Responding deputies encountered a 2005 Chevrolet work truck and a 1995 Chevrolet pickup involved in the crash.


First responders assisted with six adult victims and two juvenile victims from the crash, the press release added. Six people were transported from the scene to Sanford Worthington Medical Center, while one person was transported to the Sanford Community Hospital in Luverne. Another male passenger sustained critical injuries from the crash which resulted in his death, the press release stated.


The incident is still under investigation and pending family notifications. The Nobles County Sheriff Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Lismore Rescue, Wilmont Rescue, Adrian Ambulance, Fulda Ambulance and Sanford Ambulance.
