Worthington falls further behind the average in year's total precipitation

Worthington's weather for the month of May was much drier than average and slightly warmer than average, according to data compiled at Worthington's Wastewater Treatment Plant.


Worthington picked up 1.81 inches of precipitation during the past month, which is less than half of the 4.09 inches of rain that's typical here for May. The greatest amount of rain measured this past month came on May 20 with a total of .59 inches. 


As far as temperature, the average high this past month was 69.6 degrees, which is 1.6 degrees above the May normal. The average low was 47.4 degrees, which is also 1.6 degrees above average.


The warmest temperature of the month was recorded on both May 10 and May 12, as the community had highs of 89 degrees on each date. There were also highs of 87 on May 13 and 14 and a high of 86 on the 15th. The coldest thermometer reading of the month was 40 degrees, which was recorded on both the 4th and the 20th.


So far in 2025, Worthington has received 7.09 inches of rainfall. The average here for the first five months of a year is 10.15 inches.


The average high for the first five months of 2025 is 46.0 degrees, compared to the average of 42.5. The average low for this year thus far is 22.6 degrees, compared to 22.9.
