Worthington had a measured total of just .26 inches of rain during the month of November, according to statistics supplied by the wastewater treatment plant. Comparatively, National Weather Service statistics indicate that the average rainfall for the month of October is 1.27 inches.
The past month’s rain brings the total for 2021 thus far to 28.24 inches, which is a little more than an inch and a half less than the average January-through-November total of 29.64 inches. Nearly all of the past month’s rain was measured on Nov. 11, when a total of .25 inches was recorded. Additionally, .01 inches of precipitation was measured on Nov. 12, and there were trace amounts on Nov. 13 and 14. A total of .5 inches of snow also fell in November.
The average high temperature recorded locally, meanwhile, was 45.7 degrees this past month, compared to the typical November high of 41.8 degrees. The month’s highest temperature in Worthington was 69 degrees, which was reported on the 7th, and there were four other days with highs of 60 degrees or warmer.
The average low temperature during November was 26.4 degrees, which is slightly more than three degrees warmer than the normal November low of 23.2. The coldest reading of the month in Worthington was recorded on Nov. 25 at 7 degrees.
The normal average temperature in Worthington from January through November is 57.1 degrees, and the average low is 36.5 degrees. This year, those corresponding numbers are 58.7 and 38.4, respectively.
