NCE awards $16,045 through Operation Round Up

Nobles Cooperative Electric’s Operation Round Up program recently distributed $16,045 to organizations within regional communities. More than $458,000 has now been given since the program began.

Members who participate in Operation Round Up allow the cooperative to round up their monthly electric bill to the next dollar. This small change is pooled into large amounts that a volunteer trust board oversees. Every penny goes to those in need.

The latest round of donations was distributed Nov. 10. Funds were awarded to: American Lutheran Church, $300; Chandler Quilters, $300; Good Shepherd Lutheran Quilters, $300; Lake Sarah Quilters of Garvin, $300; Brewster Senior Dining, $1,150; Fulda Senior Center, $710; City of Lake Wilson, $950; Relay for Life of Murray County, $1,100; Adrian High School Special Education, $500; Murray County Central Drama Department, $415; Murray County Central Kindergarten, $450; Nobles County Historical Society, $710; Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce, $470; University of Minnesota, $1,000; Worthington Area YMCA, $1,000; Worthington Squadron Civil Air Patrol, $770; Balaton Fire Department, $1,150; Rushmore Fire Department, $2,000; Slayton Fire Department, $1,675; and Wilmont Fire and Rescue, $795.

The Trust Board has set March 1, 2023, as the deadline for the next round of funding. The board will meet again in April to review the applications. Interested organizations may call 1-800-776-0517, e-mail nce@noblesce.com or visit www.noblesce.coop for an application.
