A Yankton, S.D. man died earlier this week in a two-vehicle crash that took place in Pipestone County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2023 Volvo semi operated by Willie Rosario, 53, address unknown, was westbound on Minnesota 30 and a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis operated by Derek William Bonin, 39, of Yankton was eastbound. The vehicles collided near the intersection with Pipestone County 13 at 11:57 a.m. Monday.
Bonin, who according to the crash report was not wearing a seat belt, died in the collision; his name was released by the State Patrol on Wednesday evening. Rosario was unhurt. The Pipestone Fire Department and Ambulance and the Pipestone County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
