Representatives of JBS and Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation (WRHCF) hosted a joint press conference Thursday at the JBS Fieldhouse to announce a $500,000 contribution to the foundation through the JBS Hometown Strong Initiative.

The contribution is designated to be used by the foundation, as directed by its board, for future community amenity projects/programs that come before the board as a grant request.

The JBS Hometown Strong program is a community investment initiative focused on strengthening the areas where JBS team members live and work, all across the United States.

"Partnering with the Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation provides opportunities to invest in community amenities focused on enhancing the well-being of local youth," JBS Worthington General Manager Matt Altman said. "Making Worthington a better place to live through meaningful projects is one of the primary purposes of our Hometown Strong Initiative."

JBS Worthington becomes the first corporate Legacy Partner of the foundation.

"JBS's mission for the Hometown Strong funds aligns well with the foundation's mission, making this a great partnership," WRHCF Board Chair Jenny Anderson-Martinez added. "We look forward to continuing to fund projects focused on improving the quality of life for Worthington-area residents, and JBS's generous donation will help us to be able to do even more meaningful work in the community."

As the foundation has been part of many local community amenity projects in the past, the board looks forward to being involved in more in the future, in large part due to the generous donation from the JBS Hometown Strong Initiative.

"The Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation is a strong community partner that does so much good in our region," JBS Worthington Human Resources Director Elizabeth Briones said. "I look forward to investing these funds in community amenities that will benefit our team members and their families, as well as our neighbors."
