Four incumbents file for Nobles County elected offices

Two incumbent Nobles County commissioners, as well as the county sheriff and county attorney, have all filed for re-election in Nobles County. Each of them had been the lone individuals to file for their respective posts as of Friday morning.


With the filing period opening on Monday, May 19, for federal, state and county offices in Minnesota, Gene Metz has submitted his name as a candidate for District 2 commissioner. Metz was first elected in 2012. Also filing for re-election in District 5 is Chris Dybevick, who is seeking his second four-year term on the board of commissioners.


Ryan Kruger, who was appointed as Nobles County Sheriff in 2021 and won a four-year term for the office in 2022, has also filed for re-election. So has Braden Hoefert, who was appointed as Nobles County Attorney in 2023 and will be seeking his first four-year term.


The filing period concludes on Tuesday, June 2.
