February temperatures in Worthington were significantly warmer than normal, according to data compiled at the Worthington Wastewater Treatment plant, while the community also received less than half of the normal amount of precipitation.
The average high temperature in Worthington in February was 42.0 degrees, or 14.7 degrees warmer than the average February high of 27.3. The warmest high of the month, 64 degrees, was recorded on Feb. 27, and there also highs of 50 degrees or better on six additional days Those include high temperatures of 54 on both Feb. 8 and 22.
The average low in Worthington in February was 22.5 degrees, or 12.9 degrees warmer than the average of 9.6. The coldest temperature reading came this week, with minus-2 recorded on both Feb. 27 and 28. The next coldest was a low of 7 degrees on the 17th.
Worthington received a total of .32 inches of precipitation during the month of February, with the precip total being exactly half an inch less than typical. There were two inches of snowfall measured, all of which was measured on the 15th.
For the first two months of 2024, the average high has been 30.1 degrees and the average low 15.4. That compares to typical year-to-date averages of 25 and 7.5, respectively. Meanwhile, this year's total precipitation of .99 inches is drier than the average total of 1.53 inches for this time.
