Coyotes, Dragons have multiple athletes excel during Trojan Relays

Murray County Central won the boys Class A Division competition during Tuesday's Trojan Relays in Worthington.
MCC had 189.5 points to lead the boys teams. Among the other teams competing were Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, which earned 88 points for fourth place, and Adrian-Ellsworth, which had 83 for fifth.
Top finishers for the Dragons included: Darwin Demarrias-Jansma, first in the 1600 meters and second with a personal record in the 400; Caelan Bertrand, third with a PR in the long jump, fourth in the 100 and fifth in the 200; Josh Honken, second with a PR in the shot put and fourth in the discus; Carter Murphy, second in the 100 and third in the 200; and Aiden Lichter, third with a PR in the 1600. Adrian-Ellsworth's 4x100 and 4x800 relay teams also each finished in third place.
Top finishers for the Coyotes included: Mason Kirchner, first place in the pole vault, 11 feet, 6 inches; Matthew Stapek, second in the 800 meters and fifth in the 400; Thaddeus Bray, third in the discus and fourth in the shot put; Kole Appel, second in the 3200 fifth with a PR in the 1600; Abel Collin, fifth in the shot put; Quinton Brunk, fifth in the pole vault; and Bennett Runkle, fifth in the triple jump.

Southwest Minnesota Christian/Edgerton earned first place in the girls Class A Division competition during Tuesday's Trojan Relays in Worthington, finishing with 145 points. Among the other teams competing were Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, which had 115 points for third place, and Adrian-Ellsworth, which had 95 for fifth.
Top finishers for the Coyotes included: Laiken Farris, first in the 1600 at 5:32.96, and second in the 3200; Alabama Hoonhorst, first in the discus at 122-4; and third in the shot put; Brynlee Farris, second with a personal record in the 200, third in the 400 and third with a PR in the triple jump; Sophia Pearson, third in the high jump; Trinity Reynolds; third in the long jump; Brooklyn Tyrell, third in the pole vault; Mara Clarke, third in the 3200; Mae Runkle, fourth in the high jump; and Taylor Fisher, fourth in the pole vault.
Top finishers for the Dragons included: Olivia Bullerman, first in the 400 in 1:05.72; Lucy Thier, second in the triple jump and third in the 800; Kelsey Van Ruler, third with a PR in the 200 and fourth in the 100; Hazel Brake, third with a PR in the discus; Maliya Nave, third in the 100; Liz Wendland, fifth with a PR in the 200; Maggie Lenz, fifth with a PR in the 400; and Charlotte Lichter, fifth with a PR in the 300 hurdles. A-E also had its 4x200 and 4x800 relay teams take second and its 4x100 and 4x400 quartets place third.
