City council discusses work on comprehensive plan

The City of Worthington is continuing to discuss a new comprehensive plan.

The Worthington City Council spent a majority of a special meeting Wednesday reviewing components of the plan, as a presentation was given by Director of Community Development Matt Selof.

The second half of the presentation was dedicated to specific action items the plan has outlined to this point. Action categories include land use, housing, economic development, transportation, parks and recreation, utilities and public buildings.

Council members discussed specific listed under actions in each subject area and offered feedback where they felt it appropriate. Selof indicated that a meeting on the plan with the Worthington Planning Commission is planned for next week. The plan will continue to be refined and development, and community engagement is possible in July.

It's hoped that the comprehensive plan will be completed by early fall.
