The Worthington Trojans have been seeded eighth in the eight-team Section 2AAA Boys Basketball Tournament and will play at top-seeded Mankato East at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The Trojans will travel to Blue Earth Area for their regular-season finale tonight. WHS currently has an overall record of 7-17.
Mankato East, meanwhile, wrapped up its regular season Tuesday with an 18-7 record. Meanwhile, Mankato West is the Section 2AAA Tournament’s second seed, followed by New Ulm, Jordan, Marshall, St. Peter, New Prague and Worthington.
Tuesday night’s Worthington-Mankato East game will be broadcast live on 104.3 The Bridge.

Jackson County Central’s wrestling team captured the Minnesota State Class A title during team competition Thursday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
The Huskies dominated Maple River/USC 59-9 in their first match of the day and then topped West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville 41-27 to advance to the finals. JCC then beat Royalton/Upsala, 45-23.
Minnesota’s state individual wrestling tournaments are taking place today and Saturday. Worthington’s Cole Hennings, who earned first place at 285 pounds during last weekend’s Section 3AA individual wrestling tourney, will be representing the Trojans at state. Section 3A 220-pound individual champion Cameron Wieneke, as well as Isaac Bullerman at 152 and Jaren Winselman at 195, will each be representing Adrian-Ellsworth. Jackson County Central will have 13 individuals competing.

In Section 3A boys basketball Thursday night, Red Rock Central edged Adrian-Ellsworth 60-58 and Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda bested Edgerton 76-48. Both winners advance to the “Super Saturday” quarterfinals tomorrow in the Worthington High School gym.
