Worthington weather in August featured high temperatures that were right at normal, lows slightly warmer than what’s typical and just a tad drier than average conditions, according to data compiled at the Worthington Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The normal average high temperature in Worthington in August is 79.4 degrees and the average low is 57.8 degrees, according to National Weather Service statistics. This year, those corresponding numbers are 79.4 degrees and 58.3 degrees, respectively, meaning that August highs were the same as average and the month’s lows half a degree above normal.
August’s highest temperature in Worthington was 96 degrees, which was reported on the 3rd. That turned out to be the only 90-degree reading of the month. The coolest reading of the month in Worthington was 53 degrees, which was recorded on Aug. 7. There were lows of 54 degrees on Aug. 14 and 30.
In terms of precipitation, Worthington had a measured total of 3.76 inches of moisture during the month of August. Comparatively, National Weather Service statistics indicate that the average rainfall for the month of August is 3.85 inches. A total of 1.69 inches of rain was measured on Aug. 7; another .9 inches was recorded Aug. 19.
