The Worthington Police Department executed a search warrant Wednesday at a residence in Worthington regarding illegal possession of firearms and drugs, a Worthington PD release issued Wednesday afternoon stated.
Through the investigation, a juvenile male was interviewed at the Worthington High School. When the juvenile male was advised he was under arrest, he attempted to flee officers. Officers were able to apprehend the juvenile and the school was put on lockdown at approximately 12:28 p.m. The lockdown was to prevent students from going to their next class while the juvenile male was removed from the school and to limit the number of students in the common areas.
There was no danger to other students, nor any weapons or threats in the school by the juvenile, according to the police department.
