One individual hurt in Tuesday crash on U.S. 71 in Jackson County

A Jackson man was injured in a car-vs.-semi crash Tuesday afternoon in Jackson County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2007 Kenworth truck and trailer operated by Shawn Michael Huisman, 49, of Ocheyedan, Iowa was southbound on U.S. 71 and a 2021 Nissan Rogue operated by Dillon Joseph Phibbs, 29, of Jackson was northbound when they collided near milepost 19 in Christiania Township.

Phibbs was transported to Windom Area Health with a non-life-threatening injury, while Huisman was unhurt. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office and the Jackson Fire Department and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
