The Worthington Elks Lodge #2287 has donated $5,000 toward the Spirit of Worthington Trojan Marching Band’s upcoming trip to Cuero, Texas in October.
Worthington Elks Lodge Current Exalted Ruler David Jansen said the Elks’ mission is to support community activities, and most importantly the efforts of veterans and youth organizations. A representative of the Spirit of Worthington Trojan Marching Band attended a recent meeting to speak about the October trip, and the Elks subsequently decided to make the $5,000 contribution.
Worthington’s band will be performing during Cuero’s Turkeyfest celebration. It’s anticipated the Cuero High School band will make the trip north to play during Worthington’s King Turkey Day event in either 2023 or 2024.
Jansen added that the Worthington Elks will hosting an adult prom on April 23 at the lodge. The event will be open to everyone.
