Woman charged in crash with sheriff's deputy has court date

The woman charged in the April crash that critically injured Nobles County Deputy Logan Waldner has a date for her first appearance in Nobles County District Court.

Theresa Ann Baer, 63, of Sioux Falls has been charged with criminal vehicular operation-great bodily home-gross negligence. The felony-level charge carries a maximum sentence of up to five years imprisonment, a $10,000 fine or both.

Baer is scheduled for a hearing that will be held via Zoom, and her appearance shall be by video unless otherwise directed with District Court Judge Christina Wietzema. The hearing will be at 8 a.m. Aug. 27.
