Windom woman hurt in crash at U.S. 71/Minnesota 60 intersection

A 76-year-old Windom woman was injured Wednesday afternoon at a crash at the intersection of U.S. 71 and Minnesota 60.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2017 Ford Edge operated by Jean Laverne Hoppe was in the median and turned left for eastbound Minnesota 60 and a 2021 Peterbilt semi operated by Daniel Lee Sevareid, 50, of Wanamingo was traveling eastbound on Minnesota 60 when the vehicles collided. The crash took place at 3:37 p.m. Wednesday.

Hoppe was transported to Windom Area Health with a non-life-threatening injury, while Sevareid was unhurt. The Windom Police Department, Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office and Windom Fire and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
