Spencer Wieneke has been hired as the Dean of Students for the Worthington Learning Center, a Independent School District 518 press release announced Thursday afternoon.
Responsibilities of this new position include assisting the Learning Center Principal in the overall administration and support for the specialized programs – Learning Center (includes day/night school), VIBE, Targeted Services and summer school.
Wieneke, a graduate of Adrian High School, earned his elementary education degree from Winona State University and joined the Worthington Middle School staff in 2015 teaching sixth grade. During his time working for District 518, Wieneke completed his master’s degree from Augustana University and his educational leadership degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He has been a coach for many different Worthington Middle School and Worthington High School sports teams during his tenure.
Wieneke will begin his new role with the district at the Learning Center on Aug. 1.
